Warmin' Things Up

So, it's spring (though Tennessee weather is begging to differ), which means there's a good chance we've pulled out the self tanner and now need a face to match our bronze skin, or we just need to add a little life to our pale, winter face.
(I'm featuring a great self-tanner in my march/april favorites, so watch out for that at the end of april)

So, I made a quick little tutorial on how to get that perfect spring glow.

With my second cup of of coffee in hand, I applied my eye makeup and base. I powdered to set everything, but if you are using a liquid bronzer or blush,

Dreaming of spring

Dreaming of spring

Here's my top wishlist for spring/summer:

1. Sunnies from Revolve Clothing
I've been dying for some round sunnies for a while, so hopefully I'll score some in the near future.

2. Shorts from Urban
I neeeed some solid high-waisted jean shorts that I can pair with some crop tops and tanks

3. Maxi from Anthropologie
I'm in love with maxi's right now-I may end up living in them this summer, because they're so comfy

4. Strappy tank from RVCA
One of my favorite trends right now is the kind of "strappy" trend, and it looks so nice on this tank. Plus it's a neutral color, and I can't resist that.

5. Sandals by Steve Madden
Sandals are a necessity for me, and I have completely worn all of mine out, so I may have to splurge a bit on a good pair that I can live in in the warm seasons.

Of course, this is a highly unrealistic list, but a girl can dream. I'm hoping to thrift/bargain shop at least a couple of these items.
Ironically it is snowing as I type this- but knowing Tennessee, it will probably be sunny and 70 tomorrow (lets hope so, at least).

What's on your summer/wishlist?

Welcome, February

Thus far, February has proven itself to be full of opportunities, which is exiting.
But, the weather has been much less exiting, with temps in the 20's and 30's, hence why I am shooting in my room. (You'll have to excuse the poor lighting)

Lately my wardrobe has been  basically a spectrum of black and greys. So, I'm slowly attempting to add some color back in. I saw this sweater at T.J Maxx and immediately loved it because it had a button down back (which I forgot to snap a picture of). They had it in black and purple, and naturally I was drawn to the black- but I decided I should push myself out of my comfort zone and I purchased the purple! (Major, I know)

Sweater // T.J. Maxx
Pants // Local Boutique
Necklace // Old Navy
Midi Rings // Local Boutique
Nail Polish- Sally Hanson, Hibiscus

I hope your February has been lovely thus far, and when faced with decisions I challenge you to buy the purple sweater this month! (Metaphorically, of course)

DIY Graphic Word Tee

Lately I've been love the graphic word tees, so I decided to diy one myself! This diy is practically self explanatory, and the best part is, it it only cost me about $3.50!

I researched what I wanted mine to say for a while, because I don't care for ones I've seen that say something like "whatever" or "you can't sit with us," I just find them silly. So I decided to keep it classy and go with "Tres Chic," which literally translates to "Very Stylish."

What You'll Need

-White Tee (I got mine at Hobby Lobby for under $4!)
-Fabric Paint
-Small paint brush
-Pencil
-Ruler

Grab your pencil and start out by drawing two lines as your guide for how big you want your words to be, one at the top of where you want your words to stop and one at the bottom. Then draw a line in between the two lines. Start tracing out your letters in between your lines- if you're not comfortable free-handing them, you can definitely use a stencil. Then start painting in your letters. Wait at least 30 minutes for your tee to dry, and you're done!

This shirt is such a great addition to my wardrobe, because it's super versatile and will transition into my summer wardrobe really well!

I hope you try this diy out for yourself!

Cozy Monday

I didn't have any school to do on this holiday monday, so today I am staying warm in my house with a fire and cup of tea. Though it was a warmer January day, I wasn't feeling up to braving the cold outdoors, so I opted for snapping a few pictures in my bedroom, despite the poor lighting. I do have to go to a meeting tonight, so I attempted to look at least a little bit presentable, while still extremely cozy.

 Starbucks T-shirt // Dad's closet
Cardigan// Forever 21
Pleather Leggings // T.J. Maxx
Shoes // T.J. Maxx
Ear Cuff // Icing

I plan to spend the rest of my day with a blanket and mug of tea binge watching some Netflix like any good teenager on a holiday monday. I hope your day is full of blessings!
